“Kossa Geshe is located in Western Ethiopia’s Limmu Kossa District in the highlands of the Kebena Forest (Jimma Zone) – Some of the last virgin forests in the country.  Established in 2009 as a land grant from Ethiopia’s investment agency, this 100 hectare farm is owned and operated by the son of a coffee growing family and carries with it the knowledge passed on by generations of smallholder family farmers.

This is a natural process coffee, and like all great naturals, is carefully dried on raised beds and rotated often.  The result is a cup that screams tropical fruit with pineapple juiciness and syrupy sweetness.  We think this is beginning of great things to come from Ethiopia’s West, especially with natural processed coffees.  With many young trees and new plantings, Kossa Geshe has much room to grow.  Wouldn’t it be great to see a western farm that rivals the ubiquitous Yirgacheffe naturals of Ethiopia’s South.”
